Graphite Training Day
On September 23rd, 2010, the Carbon research group held the first Graphite Training Day. Graphite is an open-source parallel, distributed simulator infrastructure designed to enable rapid high-level architectural evaluation and software development for future multicore architectures. It provides both functional and performance modeling for cores, on-chip networks, and memory subsystems including cache hierarchies with full cache coherence. Graphite is a key piece of infrastructure for the Angstrom Project and will be enhanced to model the Angstrom hardware and run Angstrom applications.

The goal of this session was to familiarize the attendees with the high-level design of the simulator as well as how to configure/extend the simulator with custom models. The event was very well attended, with 34 participants from different academic institutions, research labs and companies. The training material and videos of the presentations are available from the Graphite website.

If you like to receive up-to-date information about the training material and future training events, please consider joining the Graphite Training Day mailing-list.
