Subject: Info session on joining the EECS REFS; help your fellow students!
Are you interested in helping your fellow graduate students handle stress and difficult situations?
Do you provide a receptive ear for friends who are looking for someone to talk to?
Would you like to hone your own ability to handle interpersonal conflict?
Then consider applying to be a part of EECS REFS! Our group serves as a resource for the EECS graduate community in dealing with stress and conflict. We have openings for positions starting in February 2009, after training in January.
We are looking to hire a few students who are approachable and well-networked, and who are willing to commit time to continually improving the usefulness of REFS to the graduate community. Typically, a member will be expected to spend 10 to 20 hours a month performing their REFS duties.
We will be holding an information session about the REFS program on Thursday, October 2 at 6 PM in the Stata Center Kiva conference room (32-G449). Please come to learn more about the program itself and the application process to become a REFS member. Dinner will be served.
