4:34 PM EST. I left the mens room on-time and am attempting to ingest more caffeine in the hopes that heightened cerebral blood flow will lead to a breakthrough. After taking my tenth paper cup for the day, I was accosted by one who ``speaks for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.'' I drink for the trees for they have no mouths. All I can say is that I hope that my mug reappears soon so that coffee breaks can resume their usual non-confrontational state.

4:36 PM EST. Officemate #1 has requested that maintenace make the office warmer. It's like a rainforest in here. I'm thinking that the stain on the carpet under my desk may be melted glass.

4:37 PM EST. Officemate #2 is talking to his computer in a very harsh tone. Computer has not yet responded. If I had that mug, I could throw it and put an end to this.

4:39 PM EST. Officemate #2 is talking in a more soothing tone to the computer, possibly hoping to coax working code out of it. I have tangled myself up in my headphone cord. I am stuck.
