In Cambridge, Mass. did MIT A ugly Gehry work decree, Where Charles the dirty river ran With poisons hazardous to man Down to a foaming sea.

So twice five acres of filthy ground With chain-link fences were girldled round And there were dirt-piles rank with sinister smells Where festered many an overpowering stench, And here were diggers loud as holy hell Reaming out an ever-deepening trench.

But oh that endless loud construction Which slash-ed through the campus Athwart the broken pieces A savage place, as holey and uprooted As e'er beneath the waning moon was haunted By student wailing for her demon thesis.
