As the situation in the Middle East deteriorates, everybody welcomes the brief respite that the holidays offer. And in the Middle East, there is no bigger holiday than the festival of pork (hag ha-hazir in Hebrew). To celebrate this important event, GSL this Friday will consist of traditional Middle Eastern dishes, topped with a healthy dose of that magical animal: the pig.

Entrees include:

Hummus (topped with bacon bits)
Tahini
Tabouleh (sprinkled with pork rinds)
Baba ganoush (served with a glazed ham garnish)
Diced salad
Carrot salad (smothered with bacon strips)
Lebanae
Sambusak (a few of these cheese-filled pastries will actually contain a pig's ear surprise)
A selection of olives
Schug
Fresh Syrian Pita

And for desert:

Baklava
Halva
Baconva
