Hi Everyone, This is a friendly reminder that you are scheduled to cook this Friday, please read the following set of instructions carefully. * CSAIL will reimburse up to 265$ for GSL, but you need to use the MIT taxform before you go shopping since MIT does not pay sales taxes. The tax exempt number is 042-103-594 and the tax form can be downloaded from http://gsl.csail.mit.edu/reimbursement/ * I have the GSL closet key, my office is 32-G670. In the closet you will find useful things such as pots, pans, spices, cups, forks, etc. Be sure to check out the closet before shopping so you don't buy stuff you won't need. * The cookbook with recipes that scale well for lots of people can be found on the GSL website. * You should cook for around 40 people, most groups try to have some sort of vegetarian option. * Transportation is usually one of the hardest parts of GSL. If one of your team mates has a car, that is probably the easiest option, but this is not true for most teams. Otherwise consider a zipcar or a taxi, which can be reimbursed too (if within the limit). However, beware of taxis since they often don't show up or refuse to take you on short trips around campus. Using the tech shuttle to haul things might be an option depending on the size and number of containers you are using. * Send an email the day before the GSL, and on Friday itself saying what you will be cooking and at what time you will be serving, try to shoot for 12, but if time conspires against you its fine as long as its no later than 12:30. * The day of GSL don't forget to bring forks and cups for everyone, they should be in the GSL locker, otherwise you should buy them when you do grocery shopping (That is why you should check the GSL locker before shopping!). * After the GSL is over you should clean up G9 to avoid complaints from the G9 residents. Also take back any borrowed stuff or surplus spices back to the GSL locker. Thats all, best of lucks and please don't hesitate in contacting me for tips & help. Best, GSL Czar
