Points Available
Participation
- Each entry is worth one participation point.
(Entries made solely from a mix are STRONGLY discouraged by the
Ministry of Magic)
- To encourage participation, teams will be awarded bonus points
based on the number of people who submit entries
- 1-4 people: no bonus
- 5-7 people: 5 points
- 8-9 people: 10 points
- 10-11 people: 15 points
- >11 people: 20 points
- Be a judge and get 1 participation point (see below)
- Help out and get 1 participation point (see below)
Overall Prizes
- Best Transformation of Sugar into Dessert: 10 points
- Nerdiest/most humorous: 8 points
- Best traditional/classic (as defined by Muggles): 8 points
- Most Magical Originality: 8 points
Each Category
- First - 5 points
- Second - 4 points
- Third - 3 points
Rules
- All entries must be homemade. Non-homemade items (pie shells, ice cream,
etc.) may be used only if they are incorporated into the main homemade
item. (Mixes are allowed, but only for the truly baking-impaired -
this is supposed to be real baking.)
- Each person is limited to 5 entries.
- The decision of the judges and commissioner are final - bickering
will incur a house penalty of 10 points.
- Judging will be blind. (no spells allowed!)

- Non-dessert - This category has been added since we have no other food event.
People are encouraged to bring food complementary to dessert items.
Be a Judge!
Judges earn 1 participation point.
Judges get to be the first to taste all of the yummy desserts.
Judges must arrive 30 minutes early for the rule
explanation and to start sampling early.
You can be a judge for any category provided you did not submit an entry
for that category.

me if you would like to be a judge. Make sure to state which category
you would like to judge. (If all categories have been filled with at least
one judge, I will accept a second judge for a category.)
