Meet your labmates and throw things at them!
Rules
Dodgeball involves two teams in an enclosed area throwing balls at
each other. The area is divided and players cannot cross onto the other team's side. There is no limit to the number of people on each side.
The goal is to eliminate all the players on the opposing team. There are three
ways to be eliminated:
- Being hit with a ball directly (no bounce, including walls)
- Throwing a ball that is caught (no bounce, including walls). In addition, a player from the catcher's team can return to the field.
- Throwing a ball that hits the head of a player who is standing upright. The hit player is not out.
When all players are eliminated from a team, the game is over.
All matches are best-of-three.
Scoring
Each team will play every other team in a round-robin fashion.
Teams get 15 points for each best-of-three match won.
An additional 10 points will be allocated as consolation for injuries,
at the discretion of the organizer. In the event that there are no injuries,
we will keep playing until some occur. Just kidding. I'll normalize.
Annoying Bullshit
The game will be held in the MAC courts of the Z-Center. You need an
athletic membership to get in. Otherwise, you may have to pay $6 or
something like that. All students
should be able to get in for free, although if you haven't "activated" your
membership, they might hassle you a little.
