I'll try (almost) everything once

for the first time i'm getting ready to play water polo.  now, i really don't 
know a lot about the sport; i really don't even know the rules.  i hear it 
involves swimming and a ball (correct me here if i'm wrong).  and i can't swim 
very fast or very far.  but, you know, i'll try everything once.

well, maybe not everything.  like really really really hot barbeque sauce for 
instance.  it might be so hot that it permanently damages my taste buds and 
sears off the lining of my upper GI, requiring a tapioca pudding diet for the 
rest of my life.  not worth the risk on that one.

or bungee jumping.  i mean it looks fun and all but one little slip up with 
the equipment or a low-flying plane or something and i'll turn into a grease 
spot on the underside of a bridge.  a non-heroic way to go if there was one.

or rugby.  i mean if i want to get beaten up for free there's always the 
cambridgeport saloon.  you can't tell me the extra layer of cloth they sew 
into the shoulders of rugby uniforms really helps.

so basically, my advice is, always stick to low-risk activities like croquet, 
bingo, and the weekly
