My destiny comes with beer? Sweet!



A missive was launched at me today from the ether, and it wasn't from
North Korea. It said:

I am indeed lucky that my destiny comes with beer. Even our president,
who certainly is one fortunate son of a Bush, had in his fate only De
Cider. (I will pause now for your previously scheduled groan).

I have never dealt well with uncertainty, so Mike's dispatch brings me
aid and comfort. TV watching became excruciatingly painful while
pondering whose line it was. I still look expectantly at strong gusts of
air, hoping they will tell me how many roads I must walk down before I
become a man. But no longer. I will never again have to peer, with a
mixture of anticipation and trepidation, around the corners of those
treacherous roads life leads me along. But does that mean I am but a
stone hurled through the air, and neither my path nor my destination are
of my choosing? Are my actions of no consequence to my destiny? Is that
a point of view I will just have to choose for myself?

Oh, I hear you muttering, "Enough with the babble, you pompous self-
absorbed fudge?(*) What is in store for ME?".  Don't worry, CSAIL, I
reached across the table and cracked open your fortune cookie when you
were off in the bathroom powdering your nose. "You will attend a party
with strange customs". All you need to do to find your future is to wind
your way through passages, assemble yourself into hollow metal cuboids,
ascend a building of uncertain geometry, and acquaint yourself with cold
glass cylinders.

To quote another president during our last last great war, the buck
fifty stops at tonight's...
