I'm done! Who will be next?



After nine years of coursework, exams, research (successful and not), 7 officemates (all amazing) approximately 250 GSL's, 380 GSB's, 370 nights of Tuesday night hockey, 852 closely shorn yaks, countless unihoc, soccer and whatnot games, 9 AI Olympics, the merger of AI-LCS, the move to a new building and the comings and goings of several generations of grad students, I have finally defended my thesis.

While a big and exciting event for me you may be wondering, why on earth you care. Well, I'll tell you. The reason that you care is that at some point I won't be writing these weakly tomes of wisdom and inanity.

What I want to know is which of you will be brave enough to bare your most useless and foolhardy commentary on the life of the lab and the world surrounding it. Which of you can string countless clauses, words, and ideas into massive run-on sentences that captivate the minds and confuse the brains of grad students and faculty who are bored enough to actually read through your commentary every Friday afternoon. It's really not that hard. If you can ramble, if you have an official set of yak shears, and a penchant for sending email to hundreds of confused readers each week, this could be your calling.

All applications will be accepted and reviewed extensively by the den mother selection committee. I will preside over, oversee, administer and make all decisions for this committee. The ruling of the committee will be final. Please bring your application, along with $1.50 ($2 if you ask) to tonights, special, I wanna be a den mother edition of ...
