[csail-related] GSB Tonight: Abstinence

Today is the final day of my experiment.

At the beginning of the Summer, I decided to "take a month off" from
drinking. Not just alcohol, but caffeine, also. I was on my way to an
internship at Google's NYC office. I figured, if the rumors were true,
I'd be in for one hell of a Summer, and I would probably need a detox
afterward. Well, the rumors were true. Google was awesome. I drank
*way* to much. I drank every day, and got drunk once or twice a week.

To top it off, I had a constant supply of caffeine in my system. As it
turns out, Google has multiple espresso machines on every floor! I was
already pretty good with one of those things. Now my skills are near
professional-level, mainly because my fianc?e works as a barista [1] and
I got to practice multiple times a day.

When I got back from my awesome Summer. I knew it was time to detox.
What better way to delimit my period of time, than by using a calendar?
There were none that I could think of, so I set my sights on
September. I figured one month was a good time. It's not a "fake"
month [2], and it's not one of the long ones; it's just a "normal"
month. September it was.

Well, my month will be on its final eve this day. I will celebrate by
discussing my learning with you [3] and watching you enjoy some
delicious, cold, frothy beverages, at this week's:

[1] Oh, yeah. I got engaged this Summer, too. All-in-all, I had a
great time in NYC, I guess.
[2] You know who you are, February.
[3] You'd be surprised how well you can think when you're not drinking!
