Yes, I did write a few GSL notices during my two-year GSL coordinator
tenure that should have been preserved for posterity.  Also, people I
got to volunteer also wrote some interesting announcements.  None of
them have been saved, though, as far as I know.  The practice of making
all the announcements be hack announcements started with Walter, who
was after my time.  (I took over the job from Chuck Rich!)
