The Democrats stole Ronald Reagan, and the Republicans let them walk
off with him.  I was watching.  I saw it happen.  First it was Gore.
Then it was Lieberman.  Bush, and then Cheney, just watched them go.
And all I could do was join the people around me asking "What does it
mean when the Democrats are the ones invoking Reagan's name in
nationally televised debates?"

The Democrats stole fiscal prudence.  I'm not really sure how they
pulled this one off.  Somehow they claimed that their plan spends less
money than the Republicans' -- and the Republicans didn't argue the
point.  So all I could do was join the people around me asking "When
did the Democrats become the party of financial responsibility?"

The Democrats stole the military, and took Desert Storm while they
were at it.  As I watched them ride off into the sunset on gold-plated
tanks, I wondered "When did the Democrats become the party of the big
stick?"

Al Gore stole FEMA's James Lee Witt from George Bush, but had to give
him back later when it turned out the theft was "exaggeration" again.
When did the Democrats become the party of the really bad liars?  Was
it Clinton's fault, or did it start earlier?
