Wouldn't you like to get to know other people at the AI Lab better?
Wouldn't you prefer to get to know them in some relaxed atmosphere, as
opposed to when they tear your presentation to shreds as you are
giving a practice talk for your oral exam, thus destroying your
confidence so that, when you are actually confronted with your orals
committee, all you can do is stammer and bumble about with your
whiteboard markers, getting large red, green, and blue stains on your
sweaty hands while the tune from the TV game show "Jeopardy" plays
endlessly in your head?  Endlessly?  In your head?

In fact, wouldn't you like to get to know your fellow AI Lab members
in the cozy atmosphere of an exclusive ski chalet in Aspen, Colorado,
while lounging about in overstuffed chairs drinking hot toddies and
spiced cider before a roaring fire as a spectacular snowstorm rages
outside?  All for absolutely free, including round-trip airfare?

That would surely be nice, wouldn't it?  Yes, it surely would be.

However, this isn't the Media Lab.  So all we can offer you is our
weekly

tomorrow afternoon in the seventh floor playroom.  Arrive around 5:30
(or maybe even at 5:00, if you like), drink beer, hang out with other
lab members, and talk.  Root beer is usually available for
teetotalers.
