This week one of our best Scouts has come up with the GSB
announcement:

[with apologies to Lyn Turbak. largely verbatim from his seminar
    announcement.]

Are you intimidated by functional programming bullies who humiliate
you with their knowledge of MONADS? Do you get a sickly feeling in
your stomach whenever the conversation in the room turns to KLEISLI
TRIPLES? Are you frustrated by the way CATEGORY THEORISTS always seem
to attract the swingingest singles? Tired of people telling you that
if you don't sign up for that monads seminar *now*, you're a
has-been? Worried because you don't really know what MODULAR
ATTRIBUTE GRAMMARS are, much less what they are for?

Well, cheer up, relax, and take heart; none of this nonsense will be
   discussed at this week's

                 G I R L S C O U T B E N E F I T

where you can learn to feel better about yourself by having a Celis
Pale Bock, a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, an Abita Turbo Dog, or one of the
mysterious new Sierra Nevada Summerfest (?) Beers -- apparently a
lager. Tomorrow (Friday), at 5:30 p.m. in the seventh floor playroom.
