Did you ever think "oh, that Francis Ford Coppola - he's such a hack. I could do a better job"? Do you look at Tom Cruise and say to yourself "why can't I have all of that?" Did you ever want to put down "grip" as your job title? Well, here is your chance. The AI Lab, in conjunction with Universal Studios, Japanese Educational Television, and Nintendo, is proud to restructure itself as the AI STUDIO. The AI STUDIO will provide space, capable graduate students, and faculty support for innovative film projects ranging from commercials, to animated shorts, to block-buster full action features. To this end, both the 9th and 8th floors will be dedicated as the "AI STUDIO MANIFOLD". Some parts of the 7th and 4th floor will also be used. Research, of course, will still go on. However, it is requested that people only do research in the following areas: offices 753, 769, 706, and the elevator lobby. The funds generated by the AI STUDIO will be used to make sure that research in those areas can flurish. In addition, we no longer need to worry about budgets for GSL or the AI Olympics. All lab members are required to turn in a resume and head shot at today's GSB. We will have some beverages and decide who will be the next Arnold, and who will be the next Quentin. ------------------------------------------------------------------ The above dramatization is based on actual events. To hear more about the sordid plot, come to today's G I R L S C O U T B E N E F I T at 5:30, 7th floor playroom.
