As is our weekly practice, AI lab members will meet today in a social gathering at the "Girl Scout Benefit" to talk, to imbibe and to slander. We invite one and most to join our festivities at 5:30 pm in the 7th floor playroom. Many of our previous meetings have been critical events in the development of computer science and artificial intelligence. The first time three natives of Catalonia presented a correct (rhyming) proof that NP-complete problems can not be solved in constant time took place at a 1987 GSB. During my sophomore year at GSB I witnessed 6 faculty members bang empty blue plastic containers from water coolers on the floor in a vain attempt to produce a melody. These meetings have grown in fame. The "clarifying remarks" appendix of Russel and Norvig's "Artificial Intelligence- A Modern Approach" references an invitation to GSB. GSB organizers have received veild threats from well-known researchers at west-coast technical universities that include "Institute of Technology" in their names. Ask yourself- with the Unabomber caught- isn't it time you padded your resume? Come to this week's G I R L S C O U T B E N E F I T
