Other schools have vivid colors on their gowns. MIT tried to compensate with the new gray gowns, but that doesn't really cut it. We need some color, some personality, some zest. To this end, all year, the Girl Scout Benefit will be awarding Girl Scout Benefit Badges, to be worn on a sash across one's regalia. Some of the proposed merit badges are: The 6.001 Purple Heart award for bravery (round, with a purple lambda). The two-time OQE merit badge for tenacity (square, black background with yellow dots) The GSL community service badge (round, with a pizza slice crossed out) Servitude stars, one for every year spent in graduate school (red background for Masters, yellow for PhD) Perfect GSB attendance badge (brown background, with a protruding bottle cap) Core class badges (one triangle for each class, forms a decahedron when completed) Flaky minor badge (round, with a brain for Philosophy, a dollar bill for Sloan, etc) To receive these badges, you must attend this week's G I R L S C O U T B E N E F I T 7th floor playroom, 5:30
