After close study of the best-selling career counseling workbook ``What Color is Your Straitjacket?'', Crisse and I have decided to leave the AI Lab for California. We will both be working at Slumberchez in Shallow Alto, and living at 8080 Floppy Disk drive, San Sushi CA (Net addresses, etc in our inquir entries). I will be hacking qualitative neural hypertext, case-based explanation, situated factory automation, fractal fairy tales, obstruction hierarchies, constipational complexity of regularization methods and other excremental algorithms, Portnoy's Constraint language, moderating the Artificial Intelligence Bulletin netlist (ai-bull), and integrating temporal and ecclesiastic reasoning using first-order, second-order, and made-to-order logic. Crisse will be hacking LaTeX, personnel, bonsai trees, and other fragile things. We will miss you all. Ciao, Mondo Piccolo! -- Walter and Crisse Since Walter was GSL administrator for several years (1983-86), it is only fitting that we gather at 12 Noon this Friday, September 16, to mark his passing from this safe harbor we call "The Lab" out into the cruel, hard, real world. The wake will be held in the 3rd floor playroom. All AI and LCS graduate students are invited to attend. This is a somber occasion. Wear black. Frivolity frowned upon. A crying room will be provided. Refreshments will be served. Hosts: Ray Hirschfeld and Aditi Dhagat
