You can choose to rank either milk chocolates or dark chocolates.
Based on this preference, you will be assigned (at random) three
chocolates (all dark or all milk). Taste them, and rank them on your
ballot. We will later compile the results and declare the best (and
worst) chocolates.
For this part of the event, you will be given a list of all the
chocolates on the table. Taste (a bit!) of each chocolate (about twenty
different kinds), both milk and dark, and try to identify which is
which. For each chocolate on the list, write down which bin you suspect
it is.
You will receive five points for submitting a ranking ballot, and
one additional point for each chocolate you identified correctly. Note
that each Olympian can choose to participate in the ranking only (for
five points), or in the identification only (one point per correct
answer), or in both. However, if you would like to do both, you must
rank before you identify! You will not be allowed to rank after
receiving the identification list.
Helpers: Olympians
who help with preparing the chocolates for the tasting (chopping and
arranging) will win their house up to twenty extra points! Let me know
if you can help.
I'm still looking for more chocolates to taste. If
you have any special favorite chocolates that you would like included,
and you can get me 200-300 grams of the chocolates before the event,
let me know!
