This morning Google.com announced a new product that they call
Statoogle.com to allow people around the world to locate people, places
and things in MIT's new Stata Center. The simple interface allows
people to quickly search for where they are, where their adviser is or
even when the last time they went to the bathroom was. This information
will be efficiently logged by RFID tags and mined by Google's patented
search technology. You can perform queries such as "Where is room 239?"
"Where is Mike?" "Where did my laptop go and who took it?" "What is the
name of the idiot plastering his face against my office window trying to
see what web page I'm browsing?" In a statement from a Google
representative, "Our only outstanding bug is that Stallman has not yet
been located and all queries pertaining to him will have to be returned
unanswered. We have hired a swat team to work on this issue."
The initial release party of Statoogle.com will be held tonight at the
second ever Statafied:
