[csail-related] GSB Tonight: Leaves

"Make like a tree and leave." has always been an odd expression to me. I first heard it on Back to the Future, as I recall. Biff said that to someone else ... or maybe he said "Make like a tree and get out of here.", confusing me even further. I'm not sure.

A recent slashdot article mentioned that at one point in one of the Back to the Future movies, 5 Delorians could be found at one point in time. Interesting!

I'm not sure when, but at some point I figured out the "Make like a tree and leave." saying and got on with life. This has made me aware of the phrase and the versatility of the leaf as a symbol. Leaves are symbols for many things. Serenity, Autumn, Canada, and drugs.

For example, is there anything more calming than the thought of a brown leaf falling down gently on a soft Autumn breeze? Yes. But bot many things, and not much more calming.

Also, OK Go just came out with their new music video, Last Leaf. It too is very calming and has to do (apparently) with Fall. [1]

And drugs: well, I think Mario made that apparent in his third hit album, Mario 3, in which he snored leaves, grew a tail, and flew around. Also, a quick Google search reveals several interesting sites relating the two things.

Finally, least-interestingly of all, Canada. I'll let you figure the relationship between those two things out yourself. It's not hard.

Let's all talk about this a this week's:
