[csail-related] GSB Tonight: Funny Names

I'm thinking of funny-sounding names [1]. What's a really funny sounding
name? I think Irritable Bowel Syndrome is up there for me. It's kind of
bad, because it's no laughing matter [2], so we should all just call it
IBS. Suddenly not so funny, huh? Now it's up there with the other
3-letter biggies (STDs like HIV, but also ScD's and PhD's).
Thinking of funny names brings sadness to me now, because I can't think of
funny names without thinking of George Carlin's bit on words [3] ... I can
always conjure a perfect sound bite of him saying "kumquat" in my mind's
ear. Hilarious. But George Carlin is dead ... so it will forever be sad
when thinking of funny names.
I saw Louis C.K. talk at George Carlin's wake [4]. I didn't know why
Carlin and Louis were my favorite comedians until Louis just laid it out
for me there: they both throw out all their material once a year [5], so
they're always fresh. George did it, and Louis started [6] when he heard
that George did; George was Louis hero. It was pretty sad to see Mr. C.K.
not being able to hold back his tears speaking at his hero's funeral ... it
seemed to be an honor anyone would gladly accept and a responsibility no
one would dare ask for.
Let's all just hold hands and cry at this week's:

[1] It all started with "Jamoozy" ...
[2] ... well if you have it.
[3] Not the bit on swearwords, though I think it's part of the same act.
[4] Not in person, or anything--you know what I mean. I saw a video of
it. The internet exists!
[5] But I do it once a week. WINNING
[6] ... despite strong reservations. It's very interesting hearing him
talk about it.
